What we will and won’t tell you
You keep the fare minus MatRide’s commission. That’s the whole arrangement.
We don’t advertise an hourly rate, a weekly target, or a “drivers earn up to” number. Those figures describe somebody else’s best week, not your ordinary one. What we give you instead is an earnings screen that itemises every trip and every deduction, so what you’re actually making is visible rather than promised.

Make, model, year, colour and plate — the same details a rider sees before they get in.

Your documents
A valid driving licence, plus whatever your city requires. Reviewed before your first trip, not after it.
Payouts
How you get paid
A payout run happens every day. Eligible earnings from completed trips are sent to the payout account you connect when you sign up — a connected card account or a bank recipient, depending on your market.
Only one payout can be in flight at a time, so a run that finds an earlier payout still processing waits for the next one rather than sending twice. If anything about a transfer is unclear, it is held for a person to check rather than retried blindly.

Before you apply
- How much will I earn?
- We don’t publish a figure. It depends on your city, your hours and how busy they are, and any number here would be a guess about your week rather than a fact. Your earnings screen shows every trip and every deduction, so the real answer accumulates where you can see it.
- When do I get paid?
- A payout run happens every day. Eligible earnings are sent to the payout account you connect during sign-up.
- What is deducted?
- MatRide’s commission. Where riders pay you directly in cash or by transfer, the commission on those trips is settled through the app instead of being taken from a card payment.
- Do I choose my hours?
- Yes. You go online when it suits you. Drivers are independent contractors, not employees.
- How long does approval take?
- It depends on how quickly your documents can be reviewed. The app shows which step you are on and what is still needed.
